In the future, history will record that one of the most destructive and stupid wars since the dawn of civilization was our civil war [1975-1990].All sides did not win anything or achieve any goal. All of us were losers. The war ended abruptly as it started, but after 15 years .The same ailments in the Lebanese society that led to the silly war are still present, they are even much more prominant..We destroyed our country in a meaningless silly war for the sake of hollow ideologies or better still, for mere nothing. Our lives were ruined .I will present here more photos of my country before we decided to destroy it in 1975.Most of these photos were originally posted by [Kheireddine] on http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=408084 The accompaning music is the song of Sabah [yeslam len...

I created this video to raise awareness about the ongoing destruction of Beirut's historic buildings. In 1990 Lebanon emerged from a bloody civil war and began to rebuild. Unfortunately, laws in Lebanon are rarely implemented and the number of historic buildings decreased from over 1000 to under 250 as of this writing. If nothing is done, we will have nothing to show our children. Do your part and report endangered buildings to Save Beirut Heritage. Please come by and sign our petition in AUB at West Hall throughout this week. 5/21/12-5/24/12 Clips from: Al Jazeera, Al Nahar, Save Beirut Heritage, Ministry of Tourism
http://daytonabeachvideomarketing.com - For most outsiders, Beirut's history begins and ends with its bloody civil war, waged for 15 years along the infamous Green Line that cut the city in two, with Muslims to the west and Christians to the east. But its story stretches back much further than its modern strife, and the city's surface today conceals a fascinating, though often barely visible, ancient history. Music: sitti-chehade brothers - الاخوين شحاده ستي (All credits belong to the artist) This video is a personal one for me because it is presents the special city where my mother is from, the capital of Lebanon: Beirut. In its 7000 years of history, this city has been destroyed and rebuilt so many times but always keeps its special middle eastern beauty. Beirut has been always the city that broke the stereotypes of Middle East: there are as many christians as there are Muslims, there are no deserts and women are free as they are in the West. It is a combination of modern and traditional, new and old, European and Arabic culture, sea and mountains. And one of the best cities for food in the world… If you enjoyed it LIKE and SUBCRIBE for more videos coming the following weeks

I am in Beirut, Lebanon! I am currently interning with an amazing Christian nonprofit to help provide aid and relief for the Syrian Refugee crisis for the summer and am a little over a week in. I primarily work Mon-Thurs and Sunday so the clips are collection from some of the work and my time off. We have been doing a lot of work in churches and refugees camps. The refugee camps I have been to so far have asked us not to take pictures. But I am going to Bekaa Valley tomorrow, the largest Syrian refugee camp in all of Lebanon, for several days to film an organization that will be putting up tents and handing out supplies and hope to post about that soon! with love, elena @elenasetareh Business Inquiries: firstname.lastname@example.org https://www.instagram.com/elenasetareh/
